BMS Results

The project was launched in 2021 with a very short lead in time and managed to generate 75 searches across 14 counties extending from Newcastle upon Tyne down to Totnes in the first year. To date we have more than 20,000 records.

Feedback from the BMS project has demonstrated that participants derived increased appreciation and knowledge of local places and natural history and improved their identification skills whilst generating records. This year we aim to build on this experience, increase the number of participants and extend the geographical coverage.

The project has now spread further afield and we have had searches undertaken in Wales, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.
